HDMI and Kordz

The HDMI specification was launched with version 1.0 in December 2002 as a standard for connecting high definition digital audio and video for emerging technology. Founding members are Hitachi, Panasonic, Philips, Silicon Image, Sony, Technicolor S.A. and Toshiba. Kordz became a HDMI Adopter in 2005, yet even then HDMI was still in its infancy compared to the prolific standard it is today.

Kordz has developed a reputation for long-length HDMI cables, particularly as new technology pushed the engineering requirements to greater and greater levels. The emergence of 1080p, 3D and now 4K video have tested the claims and understanding of testing procedures of cable suppliers worldwide. Our understanding of HDMI has also led to the development of active HDMI cables and extenders that enable even greater bandwidth and length than was otherwise possible.

Kordz was invited to participate in HDMI’s inaugural Techzone at CES, Las Vegas in 2008, which was the beginning of our expansion and recognition in the US market. Kordz continues to work with HDMI Licensing as a HDMI Adopter, closely following standards to bring compliant product to market while continuing to drive for innovative new solutions as the HDMI specification is developed and new devices come to market.
