Kordz was founded in Australia in 2003 to address the specific needs of the custom AV installation community by delivering dependable high definition connectivity solutions. In the years since, Kordz has evolved into a well respected, multi-award winning brand, specializing particularly in reliable long reach HDMI since becoming an HDMI Adopter member in 2005. We are committed to a high standard of practical and graceful design, partnered with quality manufacturing and supporting education, all of which are key to the custom installers' successful product integration. Put simply, Kordz Connects Well.
Kordz was one of only 12 invited HDMI Adopters from around the world to participate in HDMI's inaugural Techzone at CES, Las Vegas in 2008 - the only cable brand to be honoured as such. At that event we talked to hundreds of installers from around North America and beyond, and the message from them was incredibly consistent - "...not another HDMI cable brand! ... but there's still room for another one." They expressed frustration that the many offerings in the market lacked distinction, and issues with HDMI persisted. The Director of Compliance for HDMI Licensing, LLC at that time , Michael Schaller, said "You need to be in the US market... we need you here!" (literally). The following year Michael departed his position at HDMI to become Director of Kordz USA, Inc in HDMI's heartland, Silicon Valley, California.
Kordz is also a long time supporter of CEDIA, the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association - having been a supplier member since 2004. Kordz founder David Meyer is both ISF & HAA (level 1) qualified, and sat on the Board for CEDIA Asia Pacific in 2009, and to this day maintains his voluntary position as a CEDIA Certified Instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on HDMI. He has authored several seminars on HDMI for CEDIA, which have been presented either by himself or co-Director James Chen throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as in Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo. Both David & James contributed significantly to CEDIA's HDMI Best Practices series of White papers, available through the CEDIA Extranet, and David has also authored many Kordz White papers and assorted published magazine articles on various application based topics surrounding HDMI.
Awards and recognition include CEDIA Best New Product finalist, Residential Systems magazine (USA) Resi Award 2011 finalist for our pilot HDBaseT extender, and Smart Awards 2012 Best HDMI cable for EVX from Smarthouse magazine - a follow up from three consecutive years of winning Best of the Best awards from the same publication. We're also proud to have received official recognition from Mr Joseph Kane, founder of JKP and Video Essentials, with his endorsement of our new flagship LUX by JKP HDMI cable.
