The EVO-SY2F adapter allows

common application would be to split a single subwoofer output to
attach to 2 × subwoofer leads. Other applications include
splitting a single audio preout to bi-amp or using two of these to
split a stereo signal.

for a mono signal to be split into 2, allowing connection to a stereo
input. Typically used to adapt a single subwoofer lead into a stereo
input subwoofer or connecting a basic mono audio device (such as
some
VCRs) to a stereo input.
