TOSlink optical is the most popular choice for the interconnectivity of S/PDIF digital audio, including both uncompressed PCM digital, as well as compressed digital audio formats such as Dolby Digital™ and DTS®. The standard construction of a TOSlink optical interconnect a 1mm polyfiber core of various quality levels, lightly polished and terminated with a TOSlink connector, either plastic or metal (the latter generally being better). The Kordz® EVO TOSlink is a shining example of such construction, done so with exquisite attention to detail and quality. The EVS TOSlink goes one step further with a multi-stranded core for even greater bandwidth potential.
