Side Entry Banana
The binding post terminals of most box speakers are on the vertical surface at the rear of the cabinet. The use of rear entry banana plugs with these speakers produces lateral pressure on the terminals with the cable weight pulling to the floor. Side entry plugs enable the cable to drop straight to the floor without the lateral pressure, also enabling a lower profile finish.
